FCA/Stellantis Market Management
FCA/Stellantis engaged Xevo to create the FCA Market system within the vehicle infotainment screens across their multiple brands. As part of this experience, the drivers required a way to manage merchant memberships as well as FCA Market preferences. National driver distraction regulations limit interactions while in drive mode - so the options were to develop a system for the driver while in park mode, or create an online/mobile version that could be accessed at any time outside the vehicle. Since most merchant and Market management activities were not time sensitive, we recommended the online/mobile method because it provided a more convenient interaction. Because we had engaged multiple brands, the linking flows I created would be diverse based on the individual backend systems employed by each merchant. I also had to incorporate a path for creating a new account in the event a driver didn’t already have an existing account to link. And then all of these various paths had to be designed in both web and mobile to accommodate the existing FCA online and app experiences.
P.S. I sure wish we had QR code linking functionality available during this project!
